She is an important part of American toy and doll History. If you have been looking for a very special early Barbie, this girl will fit the bill. Miss Barbie has her original iconic black and white striped zebra bathing suit, black open toe mule heels (marked Japan on left one), white cat eye sunglasses with blue lenses, ponytail booklet and a Stand. There is one tiny missing spot to the black coat on Easter Parade. The graphics are wonderful as it shows all of Barbies early outfits. There is one indented end and the date 1959 has been circled but otherwise the boxes fantastic. It is one of the best boxes I have ever seen with virtually no fading, it almost looks new. She comes with an original stock 850 box which is in fantastic condition with very vibrant graphics. Number 26 on her left bottom cheek, and Barbie TM Patent Pending, 1958 in Roman numerals by Mattel Japan, Marked Japan on bottom of foot. She is on a solid TM body and has clear markings on her bottom. No chew marks, holes or other problems to note. This girl is original with NO TOUCH UPS! And she has the heady smell of crayons 0). Wonderful original make up with some fading to the lips and a little area at the very end of her left eyebrow. Her right pinky has a darkened tip but no damage. She retains quite a lot of her fingernail polish. The third issue dolls were prone to fading almost completely to white so it is nice that this girl has retained a lot of her original color. For the most part she has even pinkish Body color, some very light fading from her waist to her upper torso no doubt from wearing her swimsuit for many years. In the Barbie Bazaar magazine, there is a reference to some rare transitional number three Barbies, and this is one of those rare Barbies. This is one of the more rare versions of Ponytail Barbie as the majority of the #3’s had brown eyeliner. She has a beautiful face with side, glancing blue eyes and blue eyeliner. And a beautiful full array of curly poodle bangs with a Darling spit curl coming down onto her forehead. She has that beautiful, baby chick, soft blonde floss hair with a flocked scalp. She has her original hard curl on her ponytail, which has been retied with a matching colored thread. the original teenage fashion, model doll! She is the third issue Mattel Barbie and is in wonderful untouched original condition with no touchups.
